Martin is a fisherman without a boat, his brother Steven having re-purposed it as a tourist tripper. With their childhood home now a get-away for London money, Martin is displaced to the estate above the harbour.
Bait is a British drama film, written and directed by Mark Jenkin, the film deals with the tensions that arise between locals and tourists in a Cornish fishing village, against a backdrop of second homes, short-term lets, and gentrification.
Mark Jenkin received numerous nominations for his debut feature and was awarded a BAFTA and BFI award in 2020.
