Chippenham Day Centre is a day centre that meets on a weekly basis throughout the year. Meetings are held at the King Alfred Hall in Chippenham every Thursday from 10am – 3pm (9.30am to 3.00pm for the organiser). Its main aims are to help those who may be at risk of reducing or losing their independence and affected by social isolation and loneliness. The Members are all over 65 years old and may have minor disabilities such as reduced mobility.
The job of Organiser is a paid appointment with the main role being the week to week running of the Day Centre, supported by Volunteers. The main duties include:
- Overseeing the safe conduct of all activities within the Day Centre
- Planning and arranging the forward programme
- Coordinating the Members’ transport requirements.
Pay: contracted for 6.5 hours a week at £11.44/hour with training provided as necessary and reasonable expenses paid. 6 days paid holiday per year.
