Are you enthusiastic about creating a positive impact in Pewsham? Join us and become a volunteer Trustee of Pewsham Community Centre Association.

About Us

Pewsham Community Centre Association, a Registered Charity (Charity Number 1097609), is committed to enriching the lives of Pewsham’s residents and the nearby local community. Our mission centres around maintaining the Community Centre as a vibrant hub and meeting place that offers diverse recreational, leisure and educational opportunities. Through our core pillars of —Provision and Maintenance, Education and Enrichment, Social Welfare and Wellbeing—we strive to enhance the quality of life for all.

Our active provision spans child and youth activities, health and wellbeing initiatives, and community engagement. Our current valued regular users list includes: – 1st Pewsham Brownies, Rainbows and Guides, BoogieBeat, Boxfit for Mammas, Chippenham & Calne Good Afternoon Choir, Chippenham Flower Club, Hartbeeps North Wilts, FLExercise, Lockside WI, Movement for Parkinsons, Ninja Fit Martial Arts, North Wiltshire Friends of the Earth, Pewsham Belles, Pop Up Play Village, Slimming World, St Johns Ambulance and Wiltshire Scale Modellers Society.

We also welcome hall hire bookings for events (including birthdays), business meetings, training courses and charity fundraisers.

Opportunity for New Trustees

As a charitable organisation, our strategic direction and charitable objectives are guided by our Trustees—a group of dedicated volunteers. We’re seeking 2 to 4 individuals to join and create a new Board of Trustees, who will contribute to our evolution and the effective management of the centre.

We welcome individuals who are passionate about and who can contribute to our mission. Your background, age, and experiences are valued, as they bring diverse perspectives to our trustee board. Lack of prior trustee experience shouldn’t deter you; we’re collaborating with Chippenham Borough Lands Charity to offer induction and mentoring for anyone new to the position of trustee.

Trustee Responsibilities

We are particularly looking for Trustees to oversee key areas such as bookings, correspondence, finance and payments, maintenance, and marketing. Your time commitment involves quarterly two-hour meetings (flexible) and an average of 10 hours per month.

What’s in It for You?

Becoming a Pewsham Community Centre Trustee is an opportunity to:

  • Contribute to a vital community space
  • Utilise your existing skills while acquiring new ones.
  • Gain strategic decision-making experience.
  • Experience the fulfilment of giving back to your community.

Applying is Easy

Firstly, you might like to visit this link – What is a trustee? – to find out information such as Who can be a trustee? and links to more detailed information.

Next, express your interest by emailing a summary of your experience, skills and what you would bring to our Board of Trustees to pcca.enquiries@gmail.com.

Applications are open until the end of September 2023.

If you’d like to learn more about the trustee role or other volunteering opportunities, send us an email with your contact details, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

If becoming a trustee isn’t feasible for you, your help and time as a volunteer in any capacity are highly valued.

We look forward to hearing from you,

Pewsham Community Centre Association
